SUMMARY

The Quality Control Manager is responsible for ensuring that all quality control tasks are carried out, documenting the construction process and inspecting each stage of construction. The QC Manager must also work directly with other managers to ensure that all projects meet the minimum standards of quality set forth by the company. Must be able to balance quality control standards, productivity and scheduling demands.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, coordinate and direct quality assurance and in-process inspections to ensure consistent quality of production.
  • Perform pre-delivery physical building inspections and material audits for work order compliance.
  • Responsible for implementing shop and project-specific QC plans
  • Proactively engage shop supervision in addressing QC matters that surface to enable an expedient resolution
  • Receiving and inspection of materials
  • Manage shop and field QC personnel and adequately resource QC needs with respect to architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical scopes of work.
  • Proactively engage shop supervision in addressing QC matters that surface to enable an expedient resolution
  • Formulate and maintains quality assurance objectives and play an active role in continuous improvement plans of processes, procedures and quality objectives.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Engineering, Architectural or Construction Management degree preferred
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required
  • Five-Ten (5-10) years’ experience in construction environment primarily in a Quality Control position
  • Demonstrated knowledge of concrete, steel erection, building construction, framing, siding, roofing, mechanical and electrical systems. Candidate must and familiar with ADA and Fire Resistance - Rated Construction requirements.
  • Individual must be capable and demonstrate both the knowledge to perform QA/QC functions and the ability to identify means and methods to promote effective QA/QC in a highly competitive market.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in commercial construction or manufacturing environment specializing in quality.
  • The position requires the applicant to processes knowledge of OSHA standards and guidelines.
  • Must have computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office programs. Must have the ability to learn construction management software. Inspections and primary communications will be via tablet.
  • Bi-lingual Spanish reading, writing, and speaking is highly preferred
